Suriya is currently busy with multiple projects, and his 45th film directed by RJ Balaji, is nearing completion.
Except for a bit of patchwork, the shoot is done, and post-production is underway. The movie is aiming for an August release.
On RJ Balaji’s birthday, the film’s title was revealed as Karuppu, named after the folk deity Karuppusamy. The title poster shows Suriya powerfully holding a sword though his face is hidden with the deity seen in the background.
Trisha plays the female lead, reuniting with Suriya after nearly 20 years. The project is produced by SR Prabu and SR Prakash Babu of Dream Warrior Pictures who previously worked with Suriya on NGK.
Described as an action adventure with a unique concept Karuppu will also feature RJ Balaji’s signature humor. GK Vishnu handles the cinematography and Sai Abhyankar is composing the music.
